Hey Reynold (or should i say @Mr. Reynold :) )
On a day when you are dejected it is just time to dig deeper within...not sure if the solution exists 'without'.
What rain or sunshine cannot be experienced with your eyes closed when you are at peace. And without that inner peace aren't most external solutions just illusions?

There is still so much left to unravel when we talk about happiness in life and so little that we actually understand about it, like the following aspects, for instance:

1. To what extent does happiness hinge on external conditions vis-a-vis internal? Doesnt it differ from person to person?

2. What exactly is the mind? We cannot experience it the way we experience the physicality of things. True, it is the cradle of most impressions and feelings but there is so much more to the mind and the way the mind relates to feelings that still remains untapped and not properly understood, right?

3. To what extent does the mind's preoccupation with happiness and the external world pre-determine the actual reality of the present?

Its interesting to discuss the varied perceptions relating to happiness....hey every one, what r ur thoughts? This is the place to talk it over.

@ Mr. Piyush Nigam - when its a day where your inner self or 'within' is dejected, it seeks out for consolation from 'what goes on' so to say. But when thats poked at by the rain gods,, then its fair enough to bite your teeth.

@ Miss. Swapna.s - Thank you miss,, the rain gods havn't been too fair to us i believe..

Robert,
Good one to start with. I was wondering if happiness was a petty thing? Arn't all of us driven towards this so-called trivial thing. We serve variety of actions for the fulfillment and wanting to get more and more of it, happiness.

Happiness is relative, i believe and very personality oriented. Means of "finding" and "acquiring" happiness are aplenty. Go for it! I quote a friend's favourite line when asked how is life? "Life is like an ice-cream, lick it before it melts". And somehow life and happiness compliment each other all the time.

Well said, Reynold, its exactly what I feel most times. Head out to a favorite spot, find a ray of sunshine even on the cloudiest days, its so true. There are no fairy tales in real life but that shouldnt deter us from finding pleasure in the little things that truly bring some sense of joy and happier involvement. You have said it so well, buddy.

Agree that it is important to find those things that keep one happy...though it would be sad if one really needs to drive in the rain to find them.
Only when you can find those things 'within' will they really come to use when you need them...and then what 'goes on' might be happier in general!
