Another Indian novelist won the Man Booker Prize! Cheers!

The good news was celebrated by most literary enthusiasts in India when Aravind Adiga’s debut novel with its ‘crackling story telling’, The White Tiger  won the Man Booker Prize.  Adiga’s voice had been unsparing in an article he had published earlier in Time magazine. The article focused on the trend of inflation in India, wherein Adiga stated, “India is still just a Sudan with a little icing on top.” Critics of White Tiger state that this novel erases all grand illusions of a rising India. But I guess it isnt fair to make any judgement about the novel till we get to read it.

Here are some interesting links that discuss Adiga’s novel, The White Tiger:

  1. Go India Go!
Interesting to note what all seems to be possible to us today which generations of Indians found close to impossible to touch in the past…

  2. Right Sir!! An elevated global trading, businesses as well as politics can be one of the matrixes for situations (good ofcourse), presently.

I cite two examples of 1. Paul Krugman 2. Aravind Adiga. Both of them won awards, while the former recently won a Nobel, but the common thread being the topicality of the subjects they chose.

Rookie Aravind decided to quit a job and pen down a book and got noticed. Good for India.

‘The tigers are rare but roaring for sure, is the world listening? Well done AA.’

  3. Book is out of stock in most stores already.

  4. Yeah,, India is certainly rising…high n high (the latest is the ‘ChandraYan’ :D !

“” Courage does not always roar.

Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,

“I will try again tomorrow”! “”
